And I’ll be spending my weekend in Shenyang, north of Beijing, visiting my boyfriend and hopefully having a look around at what’s apparently the fifth (or so) biggest city in the country. I may just get a look at the local version of the Forbidden City, a 17th-century Qing Dynasty palace. A KTV date has also been arranged- they say you haven’t truly arrived in China until you’ve done KTV (Karaoke, just without the Japanese name) so I’m intrigued.
By the way, if you cry easily, Failan, the 2001 Korean film I watched last night, is probably not for you. If you like well-made films and appreciate quality acting, however, don’t wait any longer and seek out this little-known gem. Need any more reason? It stars the brilliant Choi “Oldboy” Min-Sik. So go off you go.
Have a nice “weekend” and check back for my embarrassing KTV stories!
Bis dann, Nadine
